3. How is packaging differentiated?
In regard to the obligations defined in the German Packaging Ordinance for the participation with a dual system and the submission of a declaration of completeness (VE) the following types of packaging are differentiated:
- sales packaging for „industrial end-users“ („b2b“)
- sales packaging for „private end-users“ („b2c“)
Additional obligations apply to the following special cases:
- Transport packaging, § 4 German Packaging Ordinance
- Secondary packaging, § 5 German Packaging Ordinance
- Multi-use-packaging
- One-way beverage packaging, § 9 German Packaging Ordinance
- Packaging for pollutant-containing products, § 8 German Packaging Ordinance
