4. Why is it important to differentiate between sales packaging for the private end-user and the industrial end-user?
There are higher requirements for sales packaging for private end-users while the regulations for sales packaging for industrial end-users are similar to those for transport packaging.
In the past, the regulations for sales packaging for “industrial end-users” were specified in § 6 of the previous German Packaging Ordinance. Since 1 Januar 2009 the new § 6 of the German Packaging Ordinance only regulates sales packaging for “private end-users“ and the new § 7 of the German Packaging Ordinance for the “industrial end-user“.
