The law regu\u00adla\u00adtes the natio\u00adnal imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon of the EU direc\u00adti\u00adve in Ger\u00adma\u00adny and will app\u00adly from 01.01.2024. The Sin\u00adgle-Use Pla\u00ads\u00adtics Fund Act intro\u00addu\u00adces the Exten\u00added Pro\u00addu\u00adcer Respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty (EPR) for cer\u00adtain sin\u00adgle-use pla\u00ads\u00adtic pro\u00adducts.  <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The law sti\u00adpu\u00adla\u00adtes that pro\u00addu\u00adcers and dis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtors of sin\u00adgle-use pla\u00ads\u00adtic pro\u00adducts and pack\u00ada\u00adging pay into a joint fund on a pro rata basis.  <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This fund will then be used to cover for ins\u00adtance the cos\u00adts of clea\u00adning public spaces of the\u00adse pro\u00adducts and their pack\u00ada\u00adging or was\u00adte manage\u00adment mea\u00adsu\u00adres. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The fund also finan\u00adces awa\u00adre\u00adness-rai\u00adsing mea\u00adsu\u00adres to edu\u00adca\u00adte peo\u00adp\u00adle about the con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adces of lit\u00adte\u00adring. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Aims of the Law<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The pri\u00adma\u00adry objec\u00adti\u00adves of this law are to redu\u00adce envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal pol\u00adlu\u00adti\u00adon, pro\u00admo\u00adte recy\u00adcling and rai\u00adse public awa\u00adre\u00adness of the pro\u00adblems cau\u00adsed by sin\u00adgle-use pla\u00ads\u00adtics. In the long term, the aim is to pro\u00admo\u00adte more sus\u00adtainable was\u00adte manage\u00adment and the respon\u00adsi\u00adble use of resour\u00adces. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6e6cd8d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6e6cd8d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-8c620a3\" data-id=\"8c620a3\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-83ca7cc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"83ca7cc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Key\u00adpo\u00adints of the EWK\u00adFondsG<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Which pro\u00adducts and\/or pack\u00ada\u00adgings are affec\u00adted?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The obli\u00adga\u00adti\u00adon to par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adte in the Sin\u00adgle-Use Pla\u00ads\u00adtic Fund rela\u00adtes to sin\u00adgle-use pla\u00ads\u00adtic pro\u00adducts. The\u00adse are pro\u00adducts that con\u00adsist enti\u00adre\u00adly or par\u00adti\u00adal\u00adly of pla\u00ads\u00adtic. The pro\u00adpor\u00adti\u00adon of pla\u00ads\u00adtic in the over\u00adall pro\u00adduct is not decisi\u00adve. Cof\u00adfee-to-go cups, for exam\u00adp\u00adle, which are lar\u00adge\u00adly made of paper and are only cover\u00aded with a thin lay\u00ader of pla\u00ads\u00adtic, are affec\u00adted. Howe\u00adver, mate\u00adri\u00adals made from natu\u00adral poly\u00admers that have not been che\u00admi\u00adcal\u00adly modi\u00adfied are exempt from the regu\u00adla\u00adti\u00adon.    <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sin\u00adgle-use pla\u00ads\u00adtic pro\u00adducts are manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adred for sin\u00adgle use and not for mul\u00adti\u00adple use cycles. class=\"content-grid-desc\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Con\u00adtai\u00adners such as boxes, with or wit\u00adhout lids, for food\u00ads\u00adtuffs <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a) which are inten\u00added to be con\u00adsu\u00admed imme\u00addia\u00adte\u00adly, eit\u00adher on the spot or as a take-away dish,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">b) are gene\u00adral\u00adly con\u00adsu\u00admed out of the con\u00adtai\u00adner and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">c) can be con\u00adsu\u00admed wit\u00adhout fur\u00adther pre\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon such as coo\u00adking, boi\u00adling or hea\u00adting;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Food con\u00adtai\u00adners in this sen\u00adse do not include bevera\u00adge con\u00adtai\u00adners, bevera\u00adge cups, pla\u00adtes, bags and film pack\u00ada\u00adging (such as wrap\u00adpers) con\u00adtai\u00adning food.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> The fil\u00adling volu\u00adme is up to 3.0 lit\u00adres. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bevera\u00adge con\u00adtai\u00adners made of glass or metal in which only the clo\u00adsures or lids are made of pla\u00ads\u00adtic are not con\u00adside\u00adred to be bevera\u00adge con\u00adtai\u00adners in this sen\u00adse.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">
