#Team­No­ven­tiz at the Rhi­ne Clean Up

Equip­ped with bags and tongs, we did not let our­sel­ves be deter­red yes­ter­day despi­te the pou­ring rain and car­ri­ed out a spe­cial action tog­e­ther as #Team­No­ven­tiz: As part of our Clean Up Day, we clea­ned up the banks of the Rhi­ne and actively cam­pai­gned for a clea­ner envi­ron­ment. Becau­se every day, a ton­ne of rub­bish floats into the North Sea in the Rhi­ne – a frigh­tening rea­li­ty that we can­not stand idly by.

After 1 hour we had alre­a­dy coll­ec­ted 59 kg of rub­bish, inclu­ding:

• A lot of glass
• Seve­ral ciga­ret­te butts & e‑cigarettes
• Lots of light pack­a­ging
• Hand­ker­chiefs & crown caps
• Elec­tri­cal was­te
• A bal­loon han­ging high up in a tree
• Some kind of yoga mat

The­se finds high­light the importance of rai­sing awa­re­ness and actively tack­ling pol­lu­ti­on. Even though we may have only made a small dif­fe­rence to the com­mu­ni­ty with the action, the day cer­tain­ly had a big impact on us.

A big thank you also goes to Kra­ke e.V. for accom­pany­ing us on the day, giving us an infor­ma­ti­ve talk and pro­vi­ding us with the neces­sa­ry equip­ment.

Sus­taina­bi­li­ty at the core of our ser­vices

Sus­taina­bi­li­ty is alre­a­dy at the core of the diver­se ser­vices we offer. As the ope­ra­tor of a dual sys­tem, we ensu­re that pack­a­ging can be recy­cled and retur­ned to the cir­cu­lar eco­no­my. In this way, recy­clable mate­ri­als are not lost and the amount of was­te sent to land­fill or inci­ne­ra­ti­on is redu­ced. This posi­ti­ve effect can even be cal­cu­la­ted: The coll­ec­tion, coll­ec­tion and recy­cling of used pack­a­ging saves about 1.95 mil­li­on ton­nes of CO₂ equi­va­lents** annu­al­ly.

For us, sus­taina­bi­li­ty is not just a word, but a com­mit­ment that we live by every day.
